South Florida Rotax Series Race
The South
Florida Rotax Series is the second largest series in the US second only to
California., it's first it the level of completion in the Rotax Jr class with
many nationally ranked kids racing Stars in the series. And so we make the six
hour drive south to race in the series. In three races Cody scored an 8th
place, 5th place and 3rd place finishes, got to be happy with that.
These
where the only two races to be held at Moroso kart track one of Cody's favorite
places to race.
Sat. - We went out with the tires we used in the last
race at Homestead, they had only 12 laps on them. Cody qualified in sixth place
out of ten kids not bad as he was the only one not on new tires. Pre final -
Cody finished 5th. Final - Cody finished in 5th place.
Sun. - New tires
today Cody qualified in fifth place. Pre final - Cody did a great job to work
his way up to third place. Final- Cody did a great job to hold onto third place
in a very hard fought race. It finally click with him that you have to deal
with what you have once out on the track. That if the kart is lose or tight you
have to adjust your driving style, line to make the kart work. When we went out
for the pre final the Arrow kart was hooked up he went from 5th to third. In
the pre final the kart was very lose and he dealt with it like a real pro and
held third place in a very tight race. He never was passed but had karts all
over his back bumper he put on a great show. |
