New Smyrna Speedway Fastcar Series April 2010

This past weekend (4-3-10) was the 3rd race of the 2010 New Smyrna FASTCAR series but the first race of the season for me. Well we arrived at New Smyrna Speedway around 3:30 about 30 min from the start of practice we first had to make some last minute adjustments to clutch and we where all set to go.

The start of practice went off pretty well we had some minor electrical problems around the end of practice but with the help of Rick Maguire we had it all fixed by the next practice which all so went on with out any major problems.

During intermission I participated in a Autograph signing which was all so new to me and a lot of fun.

Come race time I figured it would be a good idea to start my first race from the back just so I don't accidentally miss a shift and back the field up. While sitting on pit road my dad noticed water coming out underneath my car so I quickly unbuckled and opened the hood where I found a broken radiator hose clamp. My dad ran and got a screw driver and water and fixed it as fast as he could. Unfortunately we went a lap down starting the race off sitting on pit road but luckily I got a early race caution and was able to catch up to the field and then from there it was just down to running consistent laps and staying out of trouble. I earned a 5th place finish and moved the 6 th in points on the series.
