Race #3 Citrus County Speedway

With a new motor Cody took to the track for the heat and was leading when the second place car took him out in corner 4. For the first time Cody was running up front leading only to be taken out. He learned alot about short track racing and I'm sure it will be reflected in race #4 which is a 50 lapper. Below is Cody racing his dirt kart on a friday night, he's the one running in third place.

 

 

 

 

 

Race #2

We had motor problems and didn't make the feature unforunately. Disappointing but thats racing we'll get it straightened out and be back for race #3.

 

RACE #1

Well it’s been a long couple months off and Cody is ready to get back on track. Not only did he have a new car built but also got a new trailer and truck to pull the trailer.

 

We missed the first practice session but made the last one and things went pretty well. It was Cody’s first time on the track in the new car with other race cars.  The practice session did tell us we had a potential problem with the coil which is housed inside the distributor in his car. As he put down more laps the coil got hot and the motor started miss firing just a bit. As this was the first time for the new car on the track it served as a shaky down race of sorts to get the bugs out of the new car.

HEAT RACE - Cody raced in the group two heat race where he got spun for the first time in his new car, check the video out below of the heat race. Exiting one of the corners he got tagged from behind which spun him around. He had trouble getting it going and the tow truck had to give him a push.

MAIN – Cody being a new guy on track started in the back which for this race was fine and worked in our favor helping him get comfortable in his new car. Cody rubbed fenders during the car with a couple cars but he came off the track at the end of the race with only minor damage. He came from last place up to ninth when on a restart after a caution he passed two cars before the start finish line and they docked him two positions so he finished eleventh. Not a bad showing for his first race in a 3000 pound sportsman car and we look forward to the next race. Check out the pictures below the video.
