JULY 20, 21st, 2007 North Florida Rotax Series
Ocala Grin Prix Rotax Jr Class

North Florida Rotax Series Kart races #9 and #10 July 2007 Ocala Gran Prix Rotax Jr Race

Cody's first two wins on his new Arrow Kart B-Max
Last weekend Cody raced the last South Florida Rotax series races of the year at Moroso Kart track finishing 5th Sat. and 3rd Sunday this weekend he raced the last two races of the North Florida Rotax Series for 2007 at his home track of Ocala Grin Prix.

We practiced on Friday testing some different set up's, carb combinations and had a great day learning a lot. Cody had the kart 100% ready when we arrived at the track having taken his kart completely apart during the week and setting it up with the correct gear, axle for the OGP track, all we had to do was adjust the tire pressure.

Saturday Race #9 North Florida Rotax Series Ocala Grand Prix July 2007 Rotax Jr Race Qualifying
With new tires went out and qualified first with a 40:17 lap time, second place was 40:40 so we felt real good going into the per final race. Being Florida in the month of July it was another very hot day with rain looming all day long.

Prefinal
Cody got a bod start but had first place by the time they came around the track for the first lap with his training team mate Johnny hot on his heals. Cody hung on to an easy victory crossing the finish line with a ten kart lead.
Final
Cody again start on the poll and this was a little be better race with the other karts giving him a good challenge, he crossed the line for the win with about a four kart lead. It was a great way to start the weekend with a win.

Sunday Race #10 North Florida Rotax Series Ocala Gran Prix July 2007 Rotax Jr Race

Qualifying We went out on the tires we ran the day before and Cody qualified second against the other kids who where on new tires.

Prefinal
With the kid on the poll with new tires and Cody on old tires Cody did a great job to stick on first place karts rear bumper the whole race making several attempts to pass him that didn't work out. He drove a very smart race knowing that in the final the MOJO tires would all be equal and his chance for a second win of the weekend was pretty good. Great job of being patient saving his tires for the final and pushing the first place kart to using his tires up trying to keep from being passed.

Final
Cody had a pretty good start the first place kart got out to about a ten kart lead which we expected with the tire pressures we went out with. By lap two Cody was again all over the first place karts back bumper waiting for just the right time to make the smart pass for the lead. He worked the fist place kart over perfectly being faster in the corners it was just a matter of time before the first place kart gave Cody the opportunity to get under him and pass him. On lap six that's exactly what happened Cody went in low the first place kart went in high when Cody moved up the first place kart came down to cut Cody off but it was too little to late as Cody had the line and made the pass leaving the first place kart behind to evenly finish in fourth place.

All in all it was a great way to finish the 2007 Florida Rotax Series Rotax JR with an 8th, 5th, 3rd place finish's in the South Florida Series and two wins in the North Florida Series. We now look forward to the Manufactures Cup in Dayaton this Dec. and than thw Winter Tour Series starting in Jan. 2008.
