March 2008 Ocala Gran Prix Fall/Winter Series race #5

Cody gets 2nd place!!

 

This was the last Ocala Gran Prix race of the series and the race before Stars of Karting race at Ocala later in March.

There where a few JICA's there practicing for the Stars race but no other Rotax Jr so Cody raced with the JICA's. In the Winter Tour races this year at Homestead, Moroso and Ocala the JICA's and Rotax Jr ran almost exactly the same times so it promised to be a good race.

Cody qualified second and finished third in the pre final which was fine as he would start behind Philp De Lay O on the grind who won the pre final. Nick Neri was in P2 with John Gula in P4.

The final turned out to be a great race between Philp, Neri and Cody. Cody and Nick had a great race going trading second and third place on every lap. In the second to last lap Nick lost a rear tire and Cody barely got by his spinning kart to go on to finish second behind Philp.

Sorry to be so short with this bit I have a bunch of things to do tonight to get Cody ready for his first Stars JICA race this weekend at OGP. We are all pretty excited about this up coming weekend and would like to thank Gray Racing and Marc at Hi Rev for their support in this up coming Stars race.
